Absent Lawmakers during Special Session

Reward: $2,500
areas of scrutiny: Texas House of Representatives
location: unknown

On August 10, 2021, Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan signed arrest warrants for 52 representatives who have failed to appear in the House chamber for a special session called by Governor Greg Abbott. The absences of the representatives prevents a quorum, the number of lawmakers needed to move legislation. If lawmakers are arrested, they can only be brought to the House chamber and will not face criminal charges or fines.

If you know the whereabouts of a missing lawmaker, submit a tip through this website to be eligible for a $2,500 reward, which will be honored for tips that lead directly to the arrest of missing lawmakers.
